Former U.S. President Donald Trump has agreed to meet comedian and television host Bill Maher at the White House, following a request from his friend, singer-songwriter Kid Rock.

Trump announced the decision on his social media platform, Truth Social, stating that he was initially hesitant but ultimately found the idea intriguing.

“I got a call from a very good guy, and friend of mine, Kid Rock, asking me whether or not it would be possible for me to meet, in the White House, with Bill Maher, a man who has been unjustifiably critical of anything, or anyone, TRUMP,” Trump wrote.

“I really didn’t like the idea much, and don’t like it much now, but thought it would be interesting,” he added.

Acknowledging Maher’s history of criticism, Trump admitted that the comedian would likely continue to publicly attack him even after their meeting. He also revealed that Dana White, CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), would be present.

“The problem is, no matter how much he likes your Favorite President, ME, he will publicly proclaim what a terrible guy I am, etc., very much like the Democrats at my recent Address to the Joint Session of Congress,” Trump said. “Who knows, though, maybe I’ll be proven wrong?”

Despite his skepticism, Trump said he is honoring a request from a friend and looks forward to the meeting.

“In any event, I’m doing a favor for a friend. I look forward to meeting with Bill Maher and Kid Rock, and I believe even the Legendary Dana White will be present. It might be fun, or it might not, but you will be the first to know!” he added.

While the meeting is expected to take place at the White House, the exact date has not yet been confirmed.
